THE BEST Italian restaurant in St. Louis - yes, even better than the ones on the infamous HILL.
This time we sat outside on the patio. We all got a Classic Pasta and of course a full pasta to take home. I had the 4 cheese ravioli - my favorite but so is the lasagna!My husband enjoyed the ravioli for supper!
You can't beat the food, nor the atmosphere (like stepping back in time - waiting for Frank or Dino to come around the corner!) We have never had bad service. Our waiter recommended one of the chicken dishes (delicious). It was the best dish out of everything we ordered! Great service! We got there early, but got seated right at our reservation time. We did have to wait a little long for our appetizers, but we could tell they were a bit busy. They kept bringing food until we were full. I understand that it was Mother's Day, however we were set at a table that was very close to another party, and if our 6th person would have showed up, we wouldn't have had enough room. I was sitting at the isle where servers came through frequently and often bumped into me-( note they always apologized). We were lucky to get a reservation at Maggianos just two days beforehand. I was moving slowly and had little appetite but was so happy to just sit down and enjoy old-fashioned comfort food. I try a different entree during every visit, and I have enjoyed all of them.
The Appitizer; Stuffed Mushrooms, were abusolutly delicious. The interior is very unique with the wood and the balcony. The food is plentiful and delicious. House salad is pretty much just iceberg lettuce. The Nona's Toasted Pound Cake with warm bananas and chocolate sauce was heavenly. WHAT SETS THIS APART, is the outstanding CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have never been there when the staff is not exceptional. To me, that's 1/2 of the dining experience.

My daughters buy the tickets to the Fox and my wife and I treat them to a dinner following the show.
We have been enjoying the Fox outings for several years now; this year is the first for Maggiano's. We stopped by Maggano's last year but could not get in without reservations, so we secured an early reservation "on-line" this year.
The experience has been extremely enjoyable from the first key-stroke to enter my reservation to the paying of my bill and the sad departing from your beautiful restaurant.

The food is great and the amount you pay for the food and the serving sizes make it a great deal. I got one of the classic italian dishes for the $12.95 and not only do you get a big serving to eat in the restaurant you get another full serving of the same or a different dish to take home. I've started trying other of the dishes offered for this deal and I have yet to have one that wasnt delicious. This place is perfect for a family outing because they will serve you "family style". The service was spectacular and the food was delicious. The only problem I had was with the table cloths and the menus. The table cloth is so large and hangs so far down the table, it's quite easy to pull on it accidentally when you're trying to leave or sit down, especially if you're in a booth. The menus are too tall. But those things aren't really a big deal. However, his salad it was NOT gluten free. This is the second visit that the requested gluten free salad was NOT gluten free as there was bleu cheese on the salad. Very fortunately, the bleu cheese was visible and my husband did not eat a bite. Our waiter, was so sorry and took it and said, "we will make up a new one, of course," reassuring words. We enjoy bringing guests to Maggiano's, in fact, we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary this May in one of your banquet rooms - we trust my husband will be surely given a truly gluten free meal. I had been craving crab cakes and I must say the crab cakes at Maggiano's were as good if not better than the I've eaten on the East Coast.
