Ruth's Chris Steak House - Baton RougeNever Fails to DeliverOn Mother's Day I brought the family to Ruth's Chris, and the food, service, champagne and overall experience were outstanding. My only minor disappointment was that the music on the Muzak was mainly contemporary with some occassional Beatles, which was played too loudly, in turn raising the volume of the restaurant. We asked for the volume to be turned down, and it may have been, but the noise level remained high. This complemented an overall atmosphere of surprising casualness. A sign advises of appropriate attire, but we saw several diners in T-shirts--one in a white undershirt--and blue jeans. I'm fine with casual, but on a special occassion this really detracts. I have always enjoyed Ruth's Chris, but this one is the best of them all. It was better than Del Frisco's or Pappa Brother's in Houston of which most consider at the top of the steak house list. I sat at the bar where I was provided great drinks, phenomenal food and wonderful conversation. Erin, the bartender, takes pride in her job and it shows in her smile and prompt service. Her sidekick Erica also deserves kudos for her work behind the bar. I would certainly recommend Baton Rouge Ruth's to anyone looking for a great meal with unparalleled service. But no out of town Ruth's has my Sean!
