Simms SteakhousePricey but tastyWhile the food is extremely pricey, it was delicious. I'm not sure we have to go to Simms to find this quality of food, but for one time it was ok. A beautiful view and very formal staff.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe prime rib was luke warmThe prime rib was luke warm when it was delivered to the table. Otherwise, food was very good and tastefully presented.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMDinnerFoods was great! Waiter was friendly but delay give us a drinks. Otherwise overall was great!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experienceThe view was tremendous and the food was excellent. I had a petit filet and it was the best quality steak I've had in quite a while. It was very tender and cooked exactly to my specifications. The cognac peppercorn sauce added an extra dimension that made the meal a true stand-out.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat RediscoveryI'm a native Coloradoan and used to eat at Simms Landing long ago. Admittedly, I haven't been to the restaurant in a while, but that will change now. The food was extraordinary and the service was first rate. We were there on a Wednesday, when the wines over $70 are half price!! This is going to be w welcome addition to our circle of restaurants.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingMy kids and I went to Simms Steakhouse for my son's 18th birthday. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The atmosphere was energetic. We enjoyed the view and when my son got home he sent me a text saying what a fantastic birthday dinner he had!!!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AM4.5 StarsThe service and ambiance were outstanding and 2 out of 3 entrees were 5 stars. The 3rd was a nightly special - flatiron steak, which was a really small portion and the sauce was a bit bland. My ribeye was perfectly cooked and topped with blue cheese, the other shrimp entree was excellent too.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat dateour server Dante was outstanding. My date enjoyed the wine list and our steak dinners were prepared exactly as we like the first time. Thank You for the dinning experience.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI was impressed with SimmsI was impressed with Simms my frist time eating there. One of the best Filet Mignons I've had in a long time. Great table side service too. They even gave me a black napkin upon arriving since I had on a dark shirt and they didn't want the white napkin to shed on me.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat special occsaion placegreat special occsaion place or for happy hour. Great steaks, amazing views of Denver. Very attentive waitstaff.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial Occasion-PerfectThis was our first time eating at Simms Steakhouse and we were thoroughly impressed. The occasion was our wedding anniversary and we requested a view of the city. We were met with a congratulations and our own personalized menus commemorating the occasion. The food was excellent, from the appetizer through the entry. The recommended wine was perfect for the meal and by the way, the view of Denver was fantastic. We will definitely put the restaurant A list of our selections for future dining.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner at Simms SteakhouseDinner at Simms Steakhouse was a really nice experience. The food was superb and the overall ambiance was lovely.
Service was initially quite good, but became less attentive as our meal progressed. We had to wait for some time for the dessert order to be taken; our server actually presented the bill before double-checking if we wished to order dessert. It also took some time for the bill to arrive back to us.
The valet service definitely went above-and-beyond.
That said, we will return - and soon.
Another note: there were a number of prom groups that evening. I'm impressed that Simms Steakhouse developed a special pre-fixe menu for them. That was a really nice touch!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a romantic dinner,Great for a romantic dinner, but not a total budget breaker.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a marvelous brunchWe had a marvelous brunch experience. The service was excellent- our requests were satisfied promptly and with a smile. The food was excellent -loved the crab and shrimp. The desserts were outstanding as well. The windows and view were a treat.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent. I hadFood was excellent. I had filet with crab on it. Only issue was that there were a small bit of shell in the crab. Everything else was great.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday BrunchThe Sunday brunch is usually very good. This trip was no exception except for the hollandaise on the Eggs Benedict; it was a trifle salty. Otherwise, I feel comfortable taking friends there. The food and service are both well done.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding in every way!We are Landry's Select members and eat at many Landrys restaurant but this is by far one of the best. Everything was outstanding. The view is incredible and you can see 40plus miles. Our waiter Vince went above and beyond and the manager made certain that all everyone was very pleased. We celebrated a birthday there and it certainly made for a special occasion. Although it's called a steakhouse, some of our party enjoyed seafood appetizers and entrees and they were just as excellent as the steak. Portions of appetizers, entrees and desserts were large. Plan to return again and again and also try out the Happy Hour as the menu for that looked great as well.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMy first time at this restaurantMy first time at this restaurant (I recently moved to CO) and am glad I chose it for Easter Sunday Brunch. Lovely restaurant, nice views, and they had great food. The four of us enjoyed it immensely.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMask for lisa, shes great!!!ask for lisa, shes great!!! the sunday brunch is always nice but on easter sunday....... better ..... discovered a bottle of prosecco (sp) great price, and enjoyed allot, its usually to sweet.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have always had excellentWe have always had excellent food and service over many many years.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall our experience wasOverall our experience was very good. Service was great, but food wasn't up to our expectation. Specifically the calamari appetizer was nothing special and left us feeling that we paid too much to try it. But the souffle-style fresh bread that came with the meal was AMAZING and my ribeye was perfection; however, my husband's prime rib was disappointing. View from our table was top-notch and definitely helped make the experience great.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMSalmon? in DENVER??I am a salmon aficionado. On one trip back home to the Pacific Northwest, my wife kept track and after the trip informed me that I'd eaten salmon on 9 of the 10 days we were there. The glazed salmon dish at Simms Landing was one of the best treatments of salmon I have eaten in my 70 years. Clearly Pacific wild-caught salmon--not the farm-raised mush that one finds in most Rocky Mountain and Mid-west restaurants. And the bed of lightly sauteed vegetables in a balsamic vinegar preparation was the perfect complement.
And, of course, the restaurant is justly billed as having a superb view of Denver by night.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience all around.Great experience all around. I plan on going back.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good for a Brunch. WillVery good for a Brunch. Will go back to order from Menu later. Everyone said the roasting station beef was dry.
Everything else was good.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSimms SteakhouseStuffed animals, Pilsbury Dough Boy and kissing the forehead of a puppy. Is there anything softer and fluffier? Why yes, and I found it.
The bread served at Simms Steakhouse, and without the puppy breathe.
Trying to describe this soft, golden brown, tri-headed bulb of yeast is difficult. Its delivered in individual ramekins, with a side of cinnamon butter.
As your knife glides effortlessly into the gooey warm mound, you release the steam and the aroma escapes. The bread is lighter than a whisper and ignites more senses than your first crush.
The cinnamon butter layed motionless, ignored, it wasn't needed, although it could be inserted as one of Baskin Robbins 31 flavors.
So, five stars just on bread? You should hear about the steaks, t3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great experienceWe had a great experience at Simms celebrating our 16 wedding anniversary. Make sure you tell them you are celebrating something special as they put a nice touch on customizing your menu. Their happy hour is wonderful and the drinks are good. I definitely recommend Simms. It can be a bit pricey but is a good experience with very pleasant bar and wait staff,3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThird time we have been atThird time we have been at restaurant and it has been wonderful every time.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was great - butEverything was great - but the view was fantastic!!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful!!Simms Steakhouse is a gem! The lounge is super comfy, Happy Hour 4-7 every day with decent prices. Dinner was delicious (but just order 1 side item -- there's enough for 2 people to split). The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our only issue in this visit was that our main course took a long time to arrive at our table. Apparently our order went in just behind a large party's order, so we waited longer than we'd hoped for our meal. I don't think this is typical though for this restaurant. We will definitely be back!3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBreath-taking views and good eatsThe views were breath-taking! The food and dinner rolls were to die for. The modernistic rennovations are amazing. The female bartender was noticeably rude which is what earned this place a very good instead of an outstanding rating. We will definitely be back. This place is great for a date or anniversary. Ask for a table by the windows.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMsunday brunch is well pricedsunday brunch is well priced and very nice, only change should be in the desert, pastry table. chocolate fountains are a little tiered but if u feel u must, marsh mellows and strawberries dont cut it. its way to obvious that everything is brought in from the freezer section, really. costco has a well priced bakery that would do u better, if u cant find a pastry chief or a local bakery.12/30/2012 12:00:00 AM
