The CarltonBest meal I had in a long timeI have been to the Carlton many times and have always had good food & service. My visit last week was the best meal I've had in a long time and the best I ever had at The Carlton. The Chilean Sea Bass melted in my mount and the blue cheese risotto was delicious. My wife had the filet and it was out of this world. The waiter helped me pick out a seafood dish that wouldn't weigh me down for the run the next day. He was spot on. Everything was perfect. As always, the restaurant provided a very nice dining ambiance allowing for easy conversation. Diane, our server was knowledgeable, friendly and appropriately attentive. The John Dory that I had was prepared expertly, and although generally not a fan of couscous, is was very good. Not only the selction, but also the prices. After being seated, we were given an iPad that showed all their wines by region and vintage. Nice touch. The other cool aspect of their wine is that you can go up to their wine rack and actually pick your wine and bring it back to the table. It's highlighted by the price. Very unique. I chose a 2006 Dunn Howell Mountain Cab. It was expertly decanted by our waitress.
The food was very good. I had lobster bisque which was creamy and well seasoned. I then had a sea bass special that came with rice and a really tasty light red sauce. It was accompanied by mixed vegetables. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce made the meal. Ever since I was a little girl, we've been dining at the Carlton and I haven't been disappointed yet. Impeccable service and always great food make it hard not to go back again and again.
