The GrapeNeighborhood GemWonderful ambience and food. It's has that great French bistro feel. We had a great waiter, and The Grape will definitely be one of our go to spots.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining at The Grape in DallasAnniversary dinner - started with happy hour at the boutique bar; intimate and gastronomic; have the calamari - unbelieveably tender and that light peppery sweet sauce - WOW. The mushroom soup was incredible, and our steaks were tender, flavorful, and cooked exactly to order. Service was top, and we are already planning our next visit!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFIRST TRY WAS AWESOME!!!!Always heard about this restaurant and sooooo glad we finally got there for brunch. Food was delicious and service was outstanding! we will be back6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat foodThis was the first time to The Grape. I had the fried green tomato salad and my partner had the mushroom soup for a first course- both were absolutley delicious. For the second course I had the lamb crustinis and my partner the chef salad again wonderful. Also a glass of the Meritage Zinfindel and an iced tea. Everything was great except the waiter never checked on us after taking our order. The food was delivered by someone else and that was the last we saw of the server until the check was delivered. He also didn't add the wine or iced tea to the bill until it was time to swipe my credit card. I didn't expect it to be free but it would have been nice to tell me he forgot and it was now on there. I hope service is better next time.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorite restaurants. One of our favorite restaurants. Never disappoints. Best burger in Dallas6/9/2013 12:00:00 AManother birthday best! Thanks for putting us in the back room as requested... it was quiet for the first half of our meal which was fabulous for the older folks in our party. The birthday note on the table made everyone smile... and it went home with the birthday girl. Awesome once again, thank you thank you!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent as always, one ofExcellent as always, one of our fav spots in dallas6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely Amazing! My girlfriend and I went here for out anniversary and absolutely loved it. We were seated right away (this was at 6:30PM, and it looked a tad busier when we left). The restaraunt was gorgeous, but still very homey. The staff was friendly, helpful, and fast. We started off with a cheese plate which. The fruits were extremely fresh, and the portions of cheese were large (and delicious!). As for entrees, she had the Muscles with fries, and I went with "Coal Miner's" Pasta. Both were outstanding, had good portions, and came out moderately fast. Finally we moved onto desert and indulged in the Banana Nut Sundae and their famous Creme Brulee. Both were outstanding!
Also, although we were not old enough to drink, their wine list was extensive.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMYearsWe lived in the Mockingbird area 35 years ago & visited The Grape back then on occasion. We just don't get to that area often but thought of it and decided to give it a try again as the reviews are still very good for it. We were not disappointed. All was very good even our server who told us he was relatively new there. We look forward to another visit before too long.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a special placeI am old enough to say, "I remember when the Grape opened" . It was great to see younger people enjoying what I have enjoyed for a long time. M6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentThe mushroom soup was wonderful as always with nice chunks of mushroom. Loved the heirloom tomatoes included in the Fried Green Tomato salad.
My husband and I feel responsible for the quality of food served at restaurants that we choose for out of town family to dine with us. Thankfully - The Grape makes us look good every time we take someone new there.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMStill good...This place has been around forever but they've managed to stay current and thrive! Good menu choices, solid wine list, everything just seems to work. Wish I lived in the neighborhood...I'd be eating here all the time! Mushroom soup is still killer....6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat GrapeHad not been to The Grape in 25 years because we had moved to another part of town. It was great 25 years ago, and even better now. Fantastic food, laid back atmosphere, friendly wait staff. It is obvious that the staff enjoys working there. I definitely will go back. The mushroom soup - - fantastic. Mustard encrusted salmon - - delicious. Reasonable prices.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely restaurant althoughLovely restaurant although I consider the tables to be too close. So, I probably would not recommend this for a romantic date. The food and service are consistently very good.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfulThe menu was full of delicious sounding meals, and most everything we tried was absolutely top notch. The "famous" mushroom soup is famous for a reason; the succotash and pecan-crusted trout were remarkable; and the sauce with the veal was rich and tasty. I wish we hadn't been in such a hurry that we had to pass on dessert, as I am sure it would have been equally good as the rest of our meal. It is also worth noting, that my wife and I let time get away from us and told our server, Chad, we were abruptly in a hurry. The rest of our meal arrived promptly and without delay, without compromising the integrity of any of the dishes. It was much appreciated. I look forward to my next visit6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMEat HereWe reserved a table on Sunday afternoon. Complimentary valet took the headache out of normal Lower Greenville parking nightmares. We were sat immediately and our waiter, Jaime, was great. I ordered a Ruby Mule which was absolutely fantastic. If it wasn't eight dollars I would have drank many more. I ordered mimosas instead.
My mother had the Haystack which was CRAZY good. I am still thinking about that. I opted for the Blueberry Pancakes which were warm, flavorful and had a nice texture.
We ended with the crème brûlée. It was good but I'm a chocolate person.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOldie but GoodieWe've been going to the Grape for years. It's always enjoyable and dependable. Our waiter this time was especially good. One small problem: it is crowded and the tables are really really close together (literally side by side in our case). If you like plenty of room between you and the next person, this could be a deal breaker. The problem we had was that the guy next to me texted the entire time, holding his phone so the glare annoyed Us. Even tho he was with other people, in the middle of his dinner he was playing word games! Not the restaurants fault but that's when close tables can be a problem. Get a life, Buddy!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food & Great ServiceWe have dined several times at The Grape and have never been disappointed. The food is always fantastic and the service is always the best. Boursin martini is my favorite drink. Several good wines by the glass. Menu changes monthly which keeps it interesting. Everything we've tried has been great. The mushroom soup is a must if you've never tried it. Best dessert I've had there is the Popcorn Caramel Sundae but unfortunately it hasn't been on the menu again when we've been there. Wish they would make it a standard!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe GrapeThis is a real favorite. Red fish - superb as well as all dishes. the chef is a master. so much better than some of these new restaurants.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMRhone Valley Wine Dinner Excellent!Love the ambience of this cozy Lower Greenville eatery. The Rhone Valley wines were perfectly paired with each course of the 3 course dinner. The lobster/summer melon gazpacho was refreshing and the blackberry-red wine jam was the perfect complement to the pork tenderloin entree. To end the meal was a lovely aged goat cheese served with toast points, almond butter, and Texas peach preserves. Kudos to the chef! The wait staff was very attentive with out being overbearing, and the Rhone Valley wine representative was knowledgable and answered all our question. Without a doubt, we will be back to wine & dine at The Grape!5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMNever disappointingThe wine dinner was terrific from beginning to end. The chef prepared an unusual melon gazpacho that fit the warm weather for sure. Tenderloin prepared perfectly. Service was wonderful, and the wine rep knew her stuff!5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond visitI went to The Grape a few months ago with a fellow foodie coworker. I had a customer in town this go around and brought him. He enjoyed the food. Our waiter disappeared for a bit but other than that it was good food and drinks. Thanks again.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative and CharmingWith it's creative menu and intimate atmosphere, The Grape has become one of the top favorites of my wife and I. The mushroom soup is always a "don't miss" item, and the ever changing appetizers never disappoint. The cheese and meat sampler was far more enjoyable than Ms. Brenner's revered Lucia's. It is built much more on great taste than the exotic nature of the meats and cheeses. Entrees are always creative, and the wonderful descriptions always make choosing difficult! The desserts are always a pleasure... Thanks for the always delightful meals!5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Grape was wonderful. IThe Grape was wonderful. I would reccommend it to anyone looking for delicious food. The menu all oround was spectacular.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMServiceOur waiter was outstanding. He was very nice and he made me feel comfortable. I wanted this to be a very special dinner for my hubsand. He made it very special for us! Thanks so much for good service!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMDeliciousThe food here was fabulous. It's a small, cute restaurant
The service was good and there are a few bars next door and across the street that we enjoyed too.
Highly recommend it.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFab nightMy birthday, small group, 30th anniversary of me and wife going there. Best meal and experience this year!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy AnniversaryMe & my husband made a reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Love the curbside valet. We were seated in the wine room which is cozy & romantic. Our waitress was attentive and made suggestions which we took. The food was absolutely awesome. The food was cooked to order, perfect portion and so delicious. We will definitely be coming back.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner at the GrapeMy wife and I took our daughter and her husband to the Grape. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable - no noisy, obnoxious TV's or radios. The food was very good. It's on our list of restaurants to try again.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect anytimeWe always spend anniversaries and birthdays at The Grape. The food is always top-notch. The seasonal items on the menu are fantastic, but the favorite items that are available all year are hard to beat. The service is very attentive, but not pretentious. The experience is always friendly, warm and delicious.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLong time agoFirst time to visit in a long time. Food and service were as good as we remembered. A great place to take your honey.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently outstandingWe have been coming for 28+ years! Absolutely outstanding dining experience. Period. Always!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day 2013Brought the family here for Mother's Day dinner. As it was Sunday, we all felt obligated to try the famous burger. We weren't disappointed! The wine list was impressive, and the patio dining actually felt like a local north Paris restaurant (but with much more space). Service was excellent. All the way around, The Grape will not let you down.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGood for Special OccasionsThe Grape is really to for special occasions. Excellent food and service. A tad on the pricey side by the time you get everything.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMushroom soup is outstanding!Mushroom soup is outstanding! Great wine offerings with recommended pairings.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMMaking our anniversary special! The Grape was a fabulous experience. The food, service, and atmosphere is welcoming and enjoyable. We had a great time and have no reservations about going back. I recommend this restaurant for special occasions or just a great dinner! They truly treat you like family and i loved it!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great service.Great food, great service. Very cool ambience and a cozy place. I've found it somewhat hard to find a restaurant in the Dallas area that is not a chain or iffy looking since my move from Miami where the cuisine is extravoggant. Highly recommend The Grape!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGood service, nice menu andGood service, nice menu and food well prepared. Bar is a little small and cramped; dining area is comfortable.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm an out-of-towner, butI'm an out-of-towner, but EVERY TRIP I make to Dallas includes a stop at The Grape. I have celiac and our waitperson was extremely knowledgeable and guided me seamlessly thru the menu!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for the wine dinner,We went for the wine dinner, 3 courses with wine pairings for $55. It was a great deal. The food and wine was very tasty and creative. First we had a home made fettuccini, peas and egg dish with a Sauvignon Blanc, then pork tenderloin with a cherry glaze (not sweet) and roasted potatoes with a merlot blend. Then finally grilled beef with wild rice and lentils and a Cabarnet Sauvignon. The portions of the food was generous and the men in our party received some extra white wine since they had finished their glasses before the appetizer arrived. The wine maker (chateau tessyer) was on hand to give a small presentation about the wines before the dinner. We will definitely go again.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't wait to go again! SundayCan't wait to go again! Sunday brunch awesome! Five of us, each ordered something different - all good! Fun people all around us too! Will try for lunch and/or special occasion too! Thank you, it was great!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWill be back soon!I went with my boyfriend for my birthday brunch and everything was fantastic. I got the burger and he got the fried chicken sandwich, both were great! Our server was awesome and the overall vibe in the restuarant is very nice and not too loud. They even put a little card on our table that said Happy Birthday!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMEXCELLENT place to have GREATEXCELLENT place to have GREAT food!! You will NOT be disappointed.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGodd as Ever!!!!Had not been back to Dallas in 15 years, so of course our first dinner had to be at The Grape. It was well worth the wait. The Texas Quail was fabulous (the first time I had ever eaten Quail)as was the rest of our meal (and dessert). The wine was perfect. Can,t wait to get back to Big D again and visit The Grape.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything we ate was excellent.Everything we ate was excellent. I especially appreciated the option to order a small or large steak portion. I will definitely go back. There are other dishes I am anxious to try. I found the prices reasonable, especially given the fine quality of the food.
The service was acceptable, could be improved. The restaurant is attractive, though a bit crowded. The noise level was too high, but bearable.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMCortney and the staff areCortney and the staff are always so great to us! I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Thanks chef Brian4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMHow wonderful it was to seeHow wonderful it was to see that The Grape still has it's charm. Service was attentive, but neither hovered or forgot about us. It had been about five years since I had been there, as I no longer live in the neighborhood, and I was pleased to find the food as great as I remembered it.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen here many times, andBeen here many times, and have never been disappointed.
