The PecanPleasurable experience at The PecanSurprising food quality and presentation in College Park close to the airport. Afforded my guest time to have a very nice dinner at an upscale restaurant and catch his flight with no hassle on a Friday night. The place is very popular so reservations are a must. The menu is ver good with lots of Southern fare to choose from. My guest and i ordered the specials because they sounded so good. He had a massive bone-in rib eye and i had the "Surf & Surf" which was a Lobster tail and crab cake. Both meals were excellent. My only complaint is that for such a wonderful meal in a clean, refreshing environment, the service could have been better. Overall: Very Good.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMYou can count of great foodCrab cakes are one of the best you will ever have.
Service was only slightly better than average but it should have been better.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptionalTreated a special friend out on a date.....excellent food, service, and overall experience!!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything I Expected and MoreMy wife and I made 12:30 pm reservations for Sunday brunch during our short stay in Atlanta. On Sunday morning our plans changed and we called to make earlier reservations. The Pecan was very accommodating to our change request. When we arrived, there was adequate parking and it wasn't too crowded (probably because of the graduations that were taking place nearby). I had pancakes and breakfast potatoes and my wife had the chicken and waffles. Both were delicious. An added bonus was the live music. Even though we went in the morning, it looked like a great place to have a romantic dinner. Lastly, as a person who suffers from nut allergies, there was absolutely no problem with my allergies at The Pecan.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMgood neighborhood restaurantThe food is consistantly good, and the service very attentive. Love the pecan crusted shrimp appetizer...wish they would make that into an entree.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food, but not well litThe food is delicious! Cozy, but not crowded. Staff is very nice. I've only had one server who was "less than personable." He added an 18% tip to my bill (two people). Since I'm usually a 20% type of guy, he cut himself short.
The only issue I have is that if you get a table in the rear, inside is much too dark. It is too dark to be romantic. Sure, the moon light that is cut into the roof is supposed to provide light is a nice touch and supposed to add to the ambience, but I'd rather be able to read my menu without an issue. I always make reservations and request window seating.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMIt keeps getting betterMy husband and I have dined at the Pecan twice and each time we each try something different.
Each entree went beyond our expectation. Pepperjack grits..simple thought right? Try them, they are anything but simple!
Can't wait to go back to try more!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchWe took our mom to the Pecan for breakfast/brunch. She has always talked about the restaurant, so we decided to treat her to a meal on Mother's Day. The food at "The Pecan" was great! The chef's dishes were great. The shrimp and grits were yummy and I love the smooth-creamy texture. (The Chef at the Pecan need to give some pointers on Shrimp and grits to some restaurants in my area. Since this was my first time at the restaurant, I was not sure what the "protocol" was as far as getting food, drinks, so I was a bit confused. The doors opened a little later than our reservation, but that did not dampen the spirit of the day. The only issue that my brother had with the Pecan was that there were no plates available.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Pecan was a wonderfulThe Pecan was a wonderful experience for my parents and I when we arrived in Atlanta from Los Angeles. As soon as we left the airport, we headed here to try the entrees we'd read so many wonderful reviews about. Fried catfish, Crab cakes, appetizer sampler, and biscuits were absolutely stellar. Our server was very friendly and our selections came out promptly during a high traffic time of the day (6PM). We LOVED this place, and would highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for fabulous food in a lovely setting.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were in from out of townWe were in from out of town and count this to be an excellent choice. The food was creative and freshly prepared, and there are plenty of choices for varied palates. We will go again when in the area. Service was terrific.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMReally enjoyed lunch. VeryReally enjoyed lunch. Very nice grilled chicken sandwich. My dining companion had a wonderful chicken dish with mashed sweet potatoes and green beans. Nice complementary cornbread. Would recommend it if you are in the neighborhood.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMust-have DestinationSimple, upscale restaurant with extremely delicious food. If you eat anywhere in Atlanta, make it The Pecan.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMEveryone was very attentive.Everyone was very attentive. The food was great! This is a good spot for date night, birthdays, friends or celebrations. I wouldn't bring kids here, it's more of an adult atmosphere.
